I know well all love to act out our Sci-Fi Fantasies and occasionally we will do stuff that requires consumes but our club wil not allow weapon props. No swords, knifes, guns, bows and arrows, ect. If however you have obtained written permission by Public Safety then we will honor it.

Club Constitution
Article I Name
The name of this organization shall be the Sci-fi/Fantasy Club
Article II Purpose
The purpose of the organization is to enrich the knowledge of MCC Brighton Campus students in the cultural pastime of reading, watching, and creating Sci-fi/Fantasy material to be discussed and analyzed through a variety of activities. Our goal is to create a warm and inviting environment for all MCC students to express their individualism and learn more about the favorite activities of our times.
Article III Membership
Section 1: Mebership shall be open to all interested students.

Article IV Officers

Only active members shall be eligible to hold office within the organization.
- The term of office for all elected officials shall be two (2) consecutive semesters beginning on commencement day and ending on commencement day of the following year.Any candidate running for office must make sure they are able to commit and fulfill all duties required of them as an officer.
- All oficers must be in satisfactory status as defined by the college (see college code of conduct). All oficers must hold a GPA of 2.25 or better.
- The title of the elected officials shall be: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. (If so desired, names of other associate officers may be added, however this only applies to the club. They will not be recognized as officer holders outside the club).
President
- Shall preside over all meetings
- Shall have the right to vote
- Shall act as consultant and assistant to all members
- Shall keep a list of all active members
Vice President
- Shall preside over all meetings in the absence of the President
- Shall have the right to vote
- Shall act as consultant and assistant to the President
- Shall keep a list of all active members
Secretary
- Shall preside over all meetings in the absence of the President and Vice President
- Shall have the right to vote
- Shall keep accurate minutes of the meetings
- Shall be responsible for presenting a copy of the minutes to all members, including Faculty Advisiors, and if necessary the Coordinator of Clubs and Organizations
- Shall keep a list of all active members
Treasurer
- Shall preside over all meeting in the absence of the President, Vice President and Secretary.
- Shall have the right to vote
- Shall oversee the organization's budget
- Give reports to the President and Vice President of the organizations financial status
- Shall allocate funds for events and projects
- Shall keep a list of all active members
- An individual may be nominated for more than one position, but must declare on or befor the close of the nomination for for which office he/she will run.
- If there are any officer vacancies during the year, with the exception of President, new elections shall be held at the club meeting to fill the position. In the case of Presidency, the Vice President will succeed and an election will be held for the position of Vice President.
Voting
- 2/3 of members present during a vote will be required to approve a decision in order for it to pass.
ARTICLE V Faculty Advisors
- Shall be a member of the faculty or staff and shall serve in a advisory capacity to th club.
- Shall assist the organization in the planning of functions
- Shall be involved in the formulation of the club budget
ARTICLE VI Quorum, Meeting & Voting

All members must be notified 24 hours in advance of an emergency meeting.

No official business shall be conducted unless a quorm is present. A quorum shall consist of at least one officer and a percentage of active membership. The percentage should be dependent upon the size and nature of the group.

Meetings will be held once a week.

Emergency meeting will be called when deemed necessary by the majority of the officers.

A simple majority of those present and voting is required to pass a proposal.
ARIICLE VII Financial Structure

ARTICLE VIII Impeachment
An officer may be removed from his or her position due to negligence of duty, inefficiency in office or any other action that is considered detrimental to the name and purposes of the organization. An officer may be removed from office by a two-thirds vote of the organization of which all voting members have been notified.
ARTICLE IX Hazing
- The organization shall not engage in any such actions or situations involving physical, mental abuse such as harassment, intimidation or hazing; the forced concumption of alcohol, drugs, or any other liquid or solid substance for the purpose of initiation into or affiliation with this organization or other conduct which recklessly or intentionally endangers or threatens the health, safety or welfare of any person.
- Violation of the above regulations shall result in the organization losing its right to operate on campus, and the organization and violaters may be subjected to any applicable provision of the Penal Law and the college disciplinary proceedings.
- Each chartered student organization of MCC shall be responsible for annual review of the hazing regulation with all individuals affiliated with the organization at the beginning of each Fall Semester and the President and Club Advisor shall sign and return the Student Activities Department an addidavit, which attests to this promulation.
ARTICLE X Constitutional Amendments
- Requires two-thirds vote of those present and voting at an official meeting
- All amendments must be ratified by the Student Association Senate
