Meet The Staff

What is a Resident Director (RD)?

A Resident Director (RD), is a full-time professional staff member who also lives right in the building with you. An RD supervises the RAs, ensures the safety, welfare, and maintenance of the building, and provides another level of care and assistance to you. RDs also provide educational programming in the building. While an RD has an office and a desk, please do not let that deter you from getting to know him/her, or asking him/her for assistance. They are happy to help.

Hello everyone, my name is Monica and I am the RD of Pioneer Hall. This is my 3rd year as a full time professional at MCC. A little bit about me, I really enjoy what I do, I have been in this field for 7 years now. I received my Bachelors of Arts and Master of Arts in Education both from the University of Akron in Akron, OH. On a personal note, my favorite TV shows include So You Think You Can Dance , Fringe, Cold Case and anything on HGTV. In my free time I enjoy reading a good book and doing all sorts of craft projects. I look forward to meeting you all.

What is a Resident Assistant (RA)?

A Resident Assistant (RA) is a designated student on your floor who is there to assist you with different aspects of your life while you are living with us in Pioneer Hall. An RA makes themselves available to answer questions, assist with problems, help you get to know other students, provide fun/educational programs for you to attend, and yes, maintain order in the building. They have a lot of responsibilities, in addition to their classes, but they are placed here as a resource for you, and to ensure that you are safe and happy. Should you need help or have questions or suggestions throughout the year, visit your RA.

Dan Starr, RA 1st Floor Pioneer

Hola, my name is Dan and I am from the big town of Brighton, NY. I am currently going into my 2nd year here at MCC and I am majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. A few personal things about me; I am a fan of all kinds of music, but some of my favorite groups include Sublime, The Strokes, Deep Purple and the Killers. I LOVE fresh bake cookies, so Pioneer residents feel free to bring a batch down to my suite anytime. I am also an exercise guru, I enjoy hiking or going for a nice run in the great parks here in Rochester. That's it for now, I look forward to meeting you all.

Hi everyone, my name is Hannah and I am from Hornell, NY. I am in my 2nd year here at MCC and I am a Liberal Arts major. Some things about me; I am a girl that likes to eat. Don't let my size fool you, some of my favorite foods include chicken wing wraps and pizza . I enjoy rocking out to 3 oh!3, Sublime, Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band and Red Hot Chili Peppers. What else can I tell you all, oh I like to draw and paint, watch movies, play board games and mostly I love to laugh. So the 2nd floor better have a great sense of humor. Can't wait to meet you all.

Bonjour everyone, my name is Ariel and my hometown is the every wonderful Rochester, NY. I am curently going into my 2nd year here at MCC and I am majoring in Public Relations. Some fun facts about me I am a fraternal twin, my favorite color is pink and I love to get manicures. Like most of you all, I enjoy the perks of technology especially when it comes to texting I am pretty fast. I am also an fan of shopping I can shop till I drop or until they close the mall. One last thing I love homemade mac & cheese, yummy, yummy in my tummy. I can't wait to meet you all.
