The Damon City Campus is located in the heart of Rochester's and Monroe County's cultural, legal, business and human services providers center. Below are just a few of the resources close to the Damon City Campus that are available to DCC students.

This is the Liberty Pole at the corners of Main and Franklin Streets and East Avenue. Here it is decorated for the holidays, but in warmer weather concerts are sometimes given here.For more information about activities in downtown rochester, check out this site: www.visitrochester.com

This is the Hall of Justice which houses The Seventh Judicial District Law Library. There are law clerks to assist students in their research. It also houses various courts of Monroe Countyand New York State. For more information, try this link: www.courts.state.ny.us/www/jd7

The Rundel Library is a tremendous resource for students. It has over 1,300,000 items, and it also houses the SUNY Student Resource Center for use by MCC / DCC students. This center features up to date computers, resource materials, meetings and a very experienced staff to assist DCC students.The library collection is housed in four floors in two seperate buildings on either side of South Avenue. The Appellate Division Law Library is located just one block from the Damon City Campus. This is the only law library of its type open to the public. For more information and hours, its phone number is 585-530-3250.

The Strong Museum is world renowned for its collection of American artifacts from 1800 to the present. It also houses the Grada Hopeman Gelser Library that may be used for research. While best known for its extensive collection of dolls and toys, it also has a vast array of clothing, tools and glasssware from 1800 to present. This is the headquarters of the Gannett Corporation that publishes Rochester's daily newspaper, the Democrat & Chronicle. It also has a research library containing archives of most stories published by Gannett in Rochester, New York. Its web site is: DemocratandChronicle.com

The Eastman Theatre is the home of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. Located nearby is the Easman School of Music. Housed here is the Sibley Music Library of the late Hiram W. Sibley. The George Eastman House was once the residence of George Eastman, the founder of the Eastman Kodak Company. Today it is a world class museum housing both still photographs and an extensive archive of motion pictures. Some DCC learning communities have visited here as part of their classes. The Kenneth B. Keating Federal Building houses various Federal courts as well as Federal Offices.The FBI, ATF, Secret Service and other federal agencies have offices here.

The Rochester Museum and Science Center is another valuable resource for the community and DCC students. Next to the museum is the Strasenburgh Planetarium which is a world class facility. The planetarium's projector, made by the Zeiss Corporation of Germany, is considered one of the finest in the world. For more information, try this link: www.rmsc.org

The Public Safety Training Facility is a joint venture by the County of Monroe, the City of Rochester and MCC. It is a state of the art facility that trains police officers, corrections officers, paramedics, EMT, fire fighters,and security officers.
