Team History
The MCC Mini-Baja team began to emerge in the fall of 1997,
led by Professor John Wadach. Joining him as team advisors were
Professor David Leach and Patrick Bolton as leaders in fabrication and
design. By the summer or 1998, our vehicles rolling chassis and
promotional packet was displayed at the bi-annual RTMA tooling
show. But our completed vehicle was not ready to be unveiled to
MCC administration, team sponsors and the world until May of 2000.
Shortly following our vehicles unveiling, we
were finally ready to take part in our first national
competition. In June of 2000, the MCC
Mini-Baja team attended the Midwest competition in
Milwaukee Wis. and placed 60th out of 109. Partially
due to an exceptionally designed front-end suspension and steering, the
vehicle placed an astounding 3rd place in maneuverability. Our
performances since have proven us worthy competitors. MCC
Mini-Baja generally out performs other jr. colleges and a majority of
four year schools as well.
