About Karen

Creative, a bit eccentric, full of enthusiasm and energy, a master teacher and mentor is how her colleagues and students describe Karen Cardillo. A quick smile and laughing eyes, her hallmark, have followed her through a 25 year+ journey as a nurse, educator and student advocate.

Ms. Cardillo has earned accolades for her work in nursing, nursing education and teaching excellence. She has presented at local and national conferences related to student success, empowerment and creative teaching strategies as well as collaborated and co-authored several Computer Assisted Instruction programs for nursing education. Currently, Ms. Cardillo is a professor of health and physical education at Monroe Community College in Rochester, New York where she is actively involved in the field of health and wellness.

Karen continues to pursue her passion for teaching and health promotion, specifically in the areas of women’s health and stress management. She has studied with Jon Kabot-Zinn, Saki Santorelli, Brian Luke Seaward and other experts in the field of stress management, wellness, spirituality, as well as complimentary and integrated medicine. Ms. Cardillo is a registered nurse with a master’s degree in nursing and holds certification in mindfulness-based meditation and as a holistic stress management instructor. Karen works to maintain a balance of body, mind and spirit through her, biking, walking, kayaking, yoga, reading, quilting, gardening and her love of and support from family and friends.
