Announcing the SUNY Celtic Research Network
Video of the Research Forum proceedings is now available.
Monroe Community College and the SUNY Conversations in the Disciplines Program announce the launch of a comprehensive research initiative. This initiative has two basic purposes:
- to provide SUNY scholars a venue for sharing Celtic research
- to explore the potential for collaborative research and discussion about Celtic issues in an online environment
Celtic Identity in the New Millennium
With support from SUNY Conversations in the Disciplines, the purpose of this one-day research symposium was to promote SUNY faculty research in the field of Celtic studies. The symposium included four research presentations, each presentation delivered by a panel of scholars. Each speaker attempted to explain how historic Celtic culture serves as a precedent for current explorations of Celtic identity. The four fields of Humanities research which serve as a foundation for the forum include literature, religion, theater, and performing arts.
The musical group
Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann of Waterford, Ireland
