GEG 215 Final Exam Review Sheet Format: The format of this exam will differ from your midterm. Rather than being almost entirely multiple choice and matching, it will have a larger short- answer component. For example, I may give you a list of three national parks discussed in class and ask you to pick one and describe why people visit it. I will NOT ask you to list the 10 most commonly visited national parks, however! Content: In addition to the topics below, there will be questions regarding guest speaker presentations, including Turkey, Iceland, the Galapagos Islands, Beijing, the US Virgin Islands, and Barcelona. Additionally, there will be questions pertaining to short videos that were presented in class, including Dublin, Zurich, Amsterdam, and London. US Tourism What are some characteristics of an American tourist? What are some common types of tourism in the US? What is the difference between a national park and a national monument? US Tourism: The Northeast What are the four "Gateway Cities" in the US? What is the northeast known for? Describe some of the heritage attractions of the South What are some major tourist attractions and coastal resorts in the South? For what are the states highlighted in our lecture noted? What is Mardi Gras? Where is it? US Tourism: Midwest and Western States Why do people travel to CO? Describe the Sin Tourism featured in Las Vegas How does San Francisco differ from Los Angeles? What are some major CA tourist attractions? Australia and New Zealand What are some of the main tourist attractions in Australia? What characteristics distinguish Sydney and Melbourne?
