AAWCC-MCC Chapter Wins AAWCC Model Program Award!

Message from the AAWCC - MCC
Chapter President Antonia Custodio

Thank you for your interest in the American Association for Women in Community College website. It is a great honor to be serving as your President.  I invite you to navigate our site and learn more about the chapter and the contributions our members have made and continue to make in our communities.  Our mission is to help women maximize their potential through leadership opportunities, networking, volunteering, and mentoring.

The chapter was established in 1993 and is currently 80+ members strong. Through strategic programming initiatives the chapter helps raise awareness on the issues and barriers women face in education, equality, economic development, and women’s health and safety.  It is through our efforts that we support the mission to “change women’s lives through education, service and leadership development.”

Highlights for 2014 include the annual GO Red event; Women’s History Month started with an Ice Cream Social and Information Fair. The month ended with a bus tour to the Women’s Rights National Historic Park in Seneca Falls, New York; a clothing drive in April; Pink the PAC/Pink the Atrium in the month of May; two social events one in June and the other in October; a Thanksgiving Food Drive; and our Annual Holiday Luncheon.  We are off to great year in 2015. Stay tuned; check our website, your emails, and Tribune Announcements on upcoming events.

Thank you for visiting our site and I encourage you to learn more about the history of AAWCC and how you can get involved and be a voice for women in our chapter locally and nationally.  Thank you for supporting our work and mission.

Antonia Custodio

AAWCC-MCC Chapter President

2013-2015
