Message from the AAWCC -MCC
Chapter President Antonia Custodio

On behalf of the AAWCC Monroe Community College Chapter, I would like to thank you for your interest in the American Association for Women in Community College.  I am delighted to be serving as President and invite you to take some time to navigate through our site to learn more about the chapter and our mission to help women maximize their potential through leadership opportunities, networking, volunteering, and mentoring.

The Monroe Community College (MCC) Chapter of AAWCC, established in 1993 is currently at 100+ members strong.  Through strategic programming initiatives the chapter provides educational, professional, and leadership opportunities to support the mission to “change women’s lives through education, service and leadership development.”

Highlights for the 2012-2013 academic year included a school supply drive to benefit an elementary school; Veteran’s Drive to benefit the Blue Star Mothers; book drive to support a local charter school; International Women’s Day Reception focusing on the history of Women in the Military; brown bag sessions that focused on topics such as - Simple household projects and basic tools, Knowing your Mechanics, Healthy Cooking, and Exercise.  These are just some of the many networking and professional development program executed by our membership.

The MCC Chapter has a strong history of service, providing ongoing opportunities for members to support the Rochester community. Projects focus on meeting the needs of our community.  To learn more about our service projects click on the link (Service Events) for a listing of upcoming events.

Feel free to navigate through our site to learn about the history of AAWCC and how you can get involved and be a voice for the women in our chapter locally and nationally.  Thank you all who support our work and mission.

Antonia Custodio
