Wednesday, March 1 @ DCC; Monday, March 6 @ Brighton

This Year's Question: How can community colleges CHANGE their environments and encourage employees and students
to openly discuss and report sexist comments, sexual assault, harassment and violence?

Message from the AAWCC
MCC Chapter President Julie Slate

Thank you for your interest in the American Association for Women in Community College - MCC Chapter website. It is a great honor to be serving as the President.  I invite you to navigate our site and learn more about the chapter and the contributions our members have made and continue to make in our communities.  Our mission is to help women maximize their potential through leadership opportunities, networking, volunteering, and mentoring.

The chapter was established in 1993 and is currently 80+ members strong. Through strategic programming initiatives the chapter helps raise awareness on the issues and barriers women face in education, equality, economic development, and women’s health and safety.  It is through our efforts that we support the mission to “change women’s lives through education, service and leadership development.”

Spring 2017 semester activities include AAWCC National Days of Dialogue, a coffee talk and drive to benefit Webster Comfort Care, our annual bus trip to Aurora, New York, home to MacKenzie-Childs, and much more.

Thank you for visiting our site and I encourage you to learn more about the history of AAWCC and how you can get involved. We'd be happy to have you be a voice for women in our chapter locally and nationally.  Thank you for supporting our work and mission.

Julie Slate

AAWCC-MCC Chapter President
