Evaluation Methods
Students must earn a grade of C or better in order to progress in the Nursing curriculum. Each student must complete two Unit Exams and a Comprehensive Final Exam. Please see the Fall 2009 Schedule for exam dates.
NUR 212 Unit Exams are taken at the completion of each module of study. Unit Exams include 60 multiple-choice questions. Students have 90 minutes in which to complete each Unit Exam.
The Comprehensive Final Exam includes 80 multiple-choice questions. Students have 120 minutes in which to complete the Final Exam.
In event of unforeseen and /or unavoidable circumstances requiring testing on an alternate date, students are advised to confer with faculty in advance of scheduled exams. Make-up exams are given at faculty discretion.
NUR 212 students are also required to pass two clinical skills. These are:
- Assessment of the Postpartum Client
- Documentation of Maternal and Newborn Nursing Care.
In the presence of satisfactory clinical laboratory performance and compliance with the Dosage Calculation policy of the Department of Nursing, the theory grade becomes the student’s final course grade.
