In a large basket there are: 2005 purple and 2006 yellow eggs. Next to the basket is a large pile of yellow eggs.
The following procedure is performed repeatedly until a single egg remains in the basket.
Two eggs are chosen at random from the basket:
i) if both eggs are yellow, one is put back and the other is thrown away
ii) if both eggs are purple, both are thrown away and a yellow egg from the pile is put into the basket
iii) if they are different colors, the purple egg is put back and the yellow egg is thrown away
What is the color of the last egg in the basket?
